Top 3 Reasons Why You Should Visit ISE at a Career Fair

Want to learn more about ISE’s current opportunities and openings? Spring career fairs are just around the corner, so I’m counting down the top three reasons you should consider coming to chat with us at an upcoming event:

3. We Have an Award-Winning Internship Program

This past year, ISE was awarded the 2016 Best Internship Program CBJ Workforce Award (Small Company). We are passionate about providing valuable real-world experiences to college students looking to start a career in software engineering. To ensure a meaningful and enjoyable experience for our students, we have an employee-led committee dedicated to providing a successful internship program. The committee meets regularly during the year to prepare for their arrival, and once at ISE, discuss each interns’ progress and any potential adjustments needed to ensure our interns are learning and having fun in the process.

ISE interns also get to participate in the “ISE Coding Garage,” a program that gives high school students the skills needed to develop their own mobile apps. Once a week during the summer, the students meet with ISE interns to receive direct development and design help on their apps. At the end of the summer, each student presents his or her app to the community, and ISE interns and engineers with the hope to win cash awards. This program not only helps the high school students learn more about app development, but also teaches the ISE interns how to hone their leadership skills.

2. We Also Have an Award-Winning Culture…

Corridor Business Journal named us one of the “Coolest Places to Work” and one of the “Fastest Growing Companies” for four consecutive years. We have also been on the Des Moines Register’s “Iowa’s Top Work Places” for the last four consecutive years.

Here at ISE, we have employee-led committees that truly dictate our culture.  Whether it’s our Philanthropy Committee, whose charter it is to determine the charitable causes we partner with, our Internship Committee that ensures meaningful learning experiences for our summer interns, or our Fun Committee that is regularly planning events like bags tournaments, chili cook-offs, etc., we have a committee for everyone! Not only do the committees provide a break in the day, they give our team members the opportunity to work on an initiative that is meaningful to them and defines our culture at the same time!

And yes, we have a Culture Committee which administers an annual Employee Experience Survey so we are in tune with what our employees want relative to our culture. Things such as “Flexible Fridays,” a formalized “Growth and Development Program,” and the “Team Appreciation Program (TAP)” are just a few of the awesome ideas that have been implemented because of employee feedback!

1. But Our PEOPLE Are Truly What Makes ISE Such An AWESOME Place To Work!!

I know I have said this a million times, but it’s true!! I work with some of the nicest people on the planet! We are a highly collaborative group with a vested interest in ensuring the success of one another. We are empowered to make decisions and our successes are celebrated. Everyone has different priorities and “must – haves” in a job... maybe it’s location, the benefits, or the work-life balance. Whatever the case, ISE has mastered the recipe and perfected all of the ingredients it takes to be a pretty amazing place to work! The key to our success is a happy and valued workforce. We believe in creating a trusting environment where people can learn and grow, collaborate, teach others and create work that is meaningful!

So, if ISE sounds like a place you might want to intern or work at in a full time capacity, come check out our booth at one of these upcoming career fairs!
