We are ending a great 2016 at ISE, including celebrating our 14th birthday! Over the last 14 years, we have worked with many interesting companies and people. We’ve collaborated on projects locally, across the country, and across the world. We have had the privilege of being part of numerous business strategy discussions to help our partners and clients. We continue to work with both legacy and state of the art technology. Underlying it all, stands a couple of key messages that I believe have consistently helped us:
Relationship, Trust, and Value.
Whether at the personal level, between our colleagues and teams, or through interactions with our partners and clients, we are working with people. Relationship, Trust, and Value are like the legs of a sturdy stool; one that stands as a metaphor for what drives our actions.
Build relationships with the people you are working with every day. Earn their trust with every action. Strive to provide the highest value with each interaction, whether those are deliverables in a project, or any results that you might be striving to achieve. We are all people and we all like to have good relationships with each other. To do that, we need to trust and we need the value that moves us forward. Relationship, trust, and value!
Presence, Persistence, and Perseverance.
We must always be present for our colleagues, teams, clients and partners. No matter how long we’ve known someone, we must be there, wherever it is. Without presence, not much can happen. Being present and executing can get hard, but we can’t give up. We must persist and keep going.
At times, when things get difficult, even persisting is not enough. This is especially true in business and relationships. One can lose hope and declare, “I can’t do it!” and unfortunately, this is where a lot of efforts end. In some cases, perseverance is needed. Perseverance takes a lot of fortitude, will, vision, and drive. Perseverance will get you through to the other side, where you want to go. It’s not easy, and it is where you will need most the relationships that you have built, the trust you have earned, and the value that you have shown. It is harder to persevere without the strong foundation of Relationship, Trust, and Value.
I am looking forward to 2017, with our wonderful ISE and ISE Fleet Services teams, where we will keep building and nurturing our relationships, earning people’s trust, providing excellent value, being present, persistent, and always persevering to get the job done.
Happy Holidays to all of you! And may 2017 be full of love, health, and prosperity!
