Yesterday employees at Innovative Software Engineering participated in a much-loved company tradition. Since 2013, one day a year, everyone gathers outside for the annual Bags Tournament. What really makes the event special is the on-site pizza baked by Maggie’s Farm Wood-Fired Pizza. While this tradition has been going on for the last four years, the history of bringing in that mouth-watering pizza has roots that go back even farther.
When ISE got started, our CEO, Hass Machlab, knew Carolyn Brown and Jerry Zimmerman of Maggie’s Farm Wood-Fired Pizza through a project called Breakthrough to Literacy. In fact, Breakthrough to Literacy was ISE’s very first project. As Hass got to know Jerry better, he learned that in Jerry’s spare time he liked to make pizzas using a wood burning oven at home. As time went on and Jerry started to perfect the process of making pizzas, he purchased a mobile wood-fired pizza oven, and as you might guess, the rest is history. Since then, ISE has been inviting Maggie’s Farm Wood-Fired Pizza to join us every year for our annual Bags Tournament.
This year’s Bags Tournament was a success, with Team Todd & Dmitry placing first. We love celebrating with good times, amazing food, and awesome company. We’re already looking forward to next year’s event!
We're always very thankful to Carolyn Brown and Jerry Zimmerman for spending their day with us and creating such wonderful pizzas! Carolyn and Jerry are not only our client partners, but our friends. You can find Maggie’s Farm Wood-Fired Pizza in the NewBo City Market in Cedar Rapids. Check out the video below to see what you’re missing out on!
